Located on the western side of Mount Kopaonik, specifically on the left bank of the Samokovska River(Samokovska Reka) gorge, this area spans 471.38 hectares. It encompasses steep, predominantly vertical, and rocky slopes in the gorge, including the Kozje Stene ridge, Kukavica peak, and the eastern slopes of Jadovnik hill. A significant vegetational feature of this locality is the relict community of spruce, fir, and heather (Erico-Abieto-Piceetum). Below the large rocky ridge, the area is covered with vegetation of rock, blueberries, and subalpine spruces (Piceo subalpinae-Vaccinio-Juniperetum), along with relict forests of spruce and fir accompanied by heather (Erico-Piceeto-Abietum). This is further complemented by a belt of forests comprising spruce, beech, and fir, while the lowest areas feature montane beech forests (Fagetum montanum), transitioning into submontane beech forests (Fagetum submontanum).
