Covering an area of 76.21 hectares, this is one of the most well-preserved natural environments within the national park, encompassing the peak of Žljeb (Bela Stena). It is distinguished by the preservation of mosaically distributed natural high-mountain habitats with floristically rich communities of meadows (Brometum erecti), rocky areas (Carici humilis), forests (Piceetum abietis moesiacae), subalpine shrub vegetation (Vaccinio-Juniperetum nanae), and tall herbaceous vegetation (Adenostylletea). Due to human influence, species such as edelweiss, chamois, and the peregrine falcon have disappeared from Bela Stena.
