The walking trail passes through the first-degree protection reserves of the national park: Barska Reka, Kozja Stena, and Samokovska Reka.

The walking trail starts from the meadows behind the Kraljevi Čardaci Hotel and leads through ancient beech and spruce forests, across stunning mountain meadows and pastures covered with rare and medicinal plants, whose fragrance visitors will enjoy while walking. Crystal-clear mountain streams offer a refreshing ambiance, even during the hottest summer months. Along the trail, there are several resting spots, picnic areas, and the mountain lodge “Barska Reka.”

A slightly more challenging section of the trail will lead visitors to the Kukavica peak (1726 m), offering panoramic views of the surrounding villages and mountain ranges, including Durmitor, Komovi, Golija, Rogozna, Šar Planina, Željin, Jadovnik, and Čemerno. The trail then continues to the Kadijevac picnic area, where one can rest and take in the unparalleled landscapes, listen to the murmuring of the Samokovka mountain river, or relax at the mountain lodge “Kadijevac.”
