According to the annual management plan, JP “Kopaonik National Park” scheduled the regeneration of insufficiently rejuvenated naturally restored stands in state forests for this year. The reforestation was carried out from October 22nd to November 6th, covering an area of 3.9 hectares with 7,000 spruce seedlings in compartment 86 of the Gobeljska Reka management unit. To mitigate the harmful effects of previous works on the design, construction, and arrangement of ski slopes in the National Park area, compensation measures prescribed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection for JP “Skijališta Srbije” are being implemented. These include establishing new spruce and fir forest locations within all management units, particularly in areas of II and III degree protection, and on barren land not used within the ski resort. In October this year, as part of these compensation measures, reforestation was carried out on 5 hectares with 10,000 spruce seedlings.
