To mitigate the adverse effects following construction and maintenance work on ski trails in the National Park Kopaonik, compensation measures are being established in collaboration with the Public Enterprise “Ski Resorts of Serbia.” These measures include the establishment of new spruce forest sites within the management units “Gobeljska River(Gobeljska Reka),” “Samokovska River(Samokovska Reka),” and “Barska River(Barska Reka),” covering an area of 23.5 hectares in protected zones of the second and third degree. The implementation of these measures is planned over the next three to five years, based on the Compensation Measures Resolution from the Ministry of Environmental Protection, number 353-02-02097/2018-04, dated June 24, 2019. This year’s plan includes afforestation of ten hectares with twenty thousand spruce seedlings, which will be carried out in the management units “Gobeljska River” and “Samokovska River” along the route from Žiloviti Laz to Kadijevac.
