In the past ten days, the National Park Kopaonik has welcomed twenty-four new individuals of the European deer. These new deer have joined the existing population that was brought in from Fruška Gora National Park and have been supplemented by additional individuals from the Public Enterprise Vojvodina Forests. The existing deer population has adapted well to the habitat and climate conditions present on Kopaonik.

The goal of this project is to create a new, richer genetic structure among the existing deer population. By introducing new genes into the established genetic pool, a stronger and healthier population of European deer is being formed.
