Covering an area of 140 hectares, this locality encompasses the source of the Gobeljska River and extends from the arc-shaped ridge along the line O\u0161tri Kr\u0161 \u2013 Velika Gobelja \u2013 Mala Gobelja to the riverbed of the Gobeljska River(Gobeljska reka). It spans an elevation range of 1500 to 1900 meters above sea level, where traces of glaciation are visible. This area is one of the wild regions of Kopaonik and is the only site on the mountain where edelweiss is found. The terrain is composed of peripheral parts of a granodiorite massif and contact-metamorphosed rocks, including hornfels, marbleized limestones, calc-schists, and skarns. The diversity of the relief and various microclimatic factors have contributed to the richness of plant communities in this locality. Notable forest communities include spruce (Piceetum abietis typicum), mountain beech (Fagetum montanum), subalpine spruce forests, subalpine juniper and bilberry vegetation with spruce (Piceo subalpinae-Vaccinio-Juniperetum), as well as mosaic-distributed shrub communities, meadows, pastures, and rocky habitats.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
